Fort Bend Herald, April 29, 2014: Albin "Shorty" Fritz Tielke, Jr. was born in Needville, Texas on November 13, 1930 to Albin F. and Emma Wieghat Tielke. He married Verna Dell Engelhardt in 1949, and moved to Sugar Land, Texas, to start a family and begin a career at Sugar Land Industries as a heavy equipment operator. He then became a chemical operator for Nalco Chemical in Sugar Land for the next 33 years. After his retirement, he continued to farm and ranch, enjoy the company of his growing family, and practice his Christian values. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 54 years, Verna Dell; and brothers, Bernie and Elton Tielke and Woodrow Wieghat. Albin is survived by his sister, Eileen and her husband, Lawrence Alaminsky; and sister-in-law, Judi Wieghat; brother-in-law, Lloyd Engelhardt and wife, Margie; brother-in-law, Jimmie Zwahr; and sister-in-law, Lavon Feldhoff; four children, Linda Salter, Rick Tielke and wife, Janis, Tim Tielke and wife, Missy, and Kerry Linhart; six grandchildren, John Ryan Salter and wife, Katie, Kristi Mungovan and husband, Michael, Nathan Linhart and wife, Cathy, Travis Tielke and wife, Rebecca, Ashlyn Tielke and Brittney Linhart; four great-grandchildren, Korey and Kamdyn Tielke, and Ethan and Emma Mungovan; and many nephews and nieces. Visitation will be held at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Chapel at 3900 B. F. Terry Blvd, Rosenberg, Texas, on Wednesday, April 30 from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Chapel on May 1, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. with interment in Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery to follow.
