Bio
George A. Marek, 80, passed away Thursday, Oct. 7, 1999, at a local hospital. Private graveside services will be held on Saturday. Visitation will be 6:30-8 p.m. Friday at Bellmead Funeral Home. Mr. Marek married Mary Jo Matus Oct. 25, 1947. He was a WW II veteran, serving in the Army 385th Infantry. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, V.F.W. Post in West and Elk S.P.J.S.T. Lodge. Mr. Marek was preceded in death by his parents, August and Mary (Macek) Marek; and one brother, Albert Marek. He is survived by his wife; daughter Joyce and husband Louis Locke Jr.; son, Steve and wife Carolyn Marek; one grandchild, Amanda Gail "Sugar" Marek, all of West; one brother, Jerry Marek of Mart; three sisters, Adele Nemec and Pauline Helona, both of West and Irene Tenney of Ennis; and several nieces and nephews.
