Published in the Ord Quiz, Ord Nebraska Thursday Jan 21, 1965 Section 2, Page 1, Column 4 Mrs. Anna Petska is Buried Here Monday Services were held Monday morning in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church for Mrs. Anna Petska, 88 who died Friday at her farm home near Elyria. She was buried in the Ord Catholic Cemetery. Mrs. Petska was born April 9, 1876 at Spillville, Iowa to Joseph and Katherine Lukesh Ptacnik and came to Valley county at an early age. On Febr. 13 1893 she married James Petska Sr. at the Geranium Catholic Church and they made their home on the farm where she lived for 72 years until her death. Survivors include two sons, John of Ord, and Joe of Elyria; two daughters, Mrs Emma Kordik of Pocahontas Iowa, and Mrs. Anna Puncochar of Grand Island; two brothers, Frank and William Ptacnik of Ord, two sisters, Mrs Emma Valasek of Omaha, and Mrs. Tracie Vodehnal of Clarksville Ind.; 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, two sons, five sisters and three brothers.
