John Petska, 94, Services at Ord Funeral services for John Petska, 94, who died October 5, 1992 at the Valley county Hospital in Ord, were held Saturday, October 10. The 10:30 am services were at the Ord Memorial Chapel with Father Jim O'Kane officiating. Burial was in the Ord Catholic Cemetery. John was born February 22, 1898 west of Ord in Valley County to James and Anna Ptacnik Petska. He was raised in the Geranium area in Valley County. He attended school at the Geranium rural School Dist. 35 and later attended the St. Paul Business College. He married Josephine Fujan October 22, 1922 at Liberty, NE. John farmed his adult life on his grandfather's farm west of Ord until 1980 when he moved into Ord after the death of his brother, Joe. John and Joe had farmed together for many years. His wife, Josephine, died March 16, 1970. Survivors include his daughter, Virginia Parkos of Ord; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and a sister, Anna Puncochar.
