Josef J. Hudec son of Vincent and Frantiska Hudec.Josef J. Hudec married Emelie Dworsky. _____________________ Final Rites for Joe J. Hudec,80,Held Thursday Funeral services for Joe J. Hudec,80,resident of the Weimar area nearly 75 years,were held last Thursday at Hubbard Funeral Home and St. Michael's Catholic Church. Celebrant of the solemn Requiem High Mass was Msgr.A.F. Drozd,pastor of St. Michael's.Rev.Benton Thurmond as master of ceremonies;Rev.Eustace Hermes of Schulenburg was deacon and Rev.Stanley Petru of Schulenburg was subdeacon. Mr.Hudec died May 22 at the home of his son,Leo,in Weimar.He had been ill four months and seriously ill one month. Born in Moravia,Europe,on June 11,1875,the son of Vincent and Frances Hudec,he emigrated to America at the age of 7,his family settling in the Weimar area,first at Dubina and later at Osage and Wildwood.He married Miss Emelie Dworsky at St. Mary's Church in Hallettsville on Jan.18,1907,and they settled on a farm near Weimar.When they retired from active farming,they sold the farm to their son,Alfonse,and continued to make their home with him. Mr.Hudec was a member of St. Michael's Church and had been a member of the KJT more than 50 years. Pallbearers were all his Godchildren,Louis Rerich,Albin Rerich,Bill Hudec,Henry Hudec,Edwin Hudec and Wilbert Genzer. (condensed) Weimar Mercury,June 1,1956,pages 1 and 10
