Wellington Leader October 28, 1971 James William Wood, 83, retired Lelia Lake farmer, died at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 19 at the Groom Hospital. He is survived by his wife; two daughter, Mrs. Erbie Driver of Fort Worth and Mrs. Marshall Milligan of Muleshoe; two sons, Cecil Wood of Lelia Lake and Willis Wood of Muleshoe; two stepsons, Lewis M. Craig of Ruidoso, NM and Kenneth L. Craig of Gallup, NM; two sisters, Mrs. Effie Mabery of Wellington and Mrs. Myrtle Darrow of Shamrock; brothers, Elder A.D. Wood of Glen Rose and Fred Wood of Wheeler; 16 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. Mr. Wood was born September 13, 188 in Cuero. He farmed for a number of years near Rolla and reared his family there before moving to Lelia Lake in 1949. His wife, Mrs. Bertha Wood died a number of years ago and in 1964 he was married to Mrs. Margaret Lucille Craig. He was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church here. He was an uncle of Mrs. Frank Light and R.L. Mabery.
