Obit provided by Martin-Pitts Funeral Home Elder A.D. Wood March 222, 1899-Sept. 30, 1983 Funeral services will be held on October 2, 1983 at the Primitive Baptist Church in Glen Rose, Texas. Elder Wood was born March 22, 1899 in DeWitt County, Texas. He married Violet Neeley December 14, 1924 in Wellington, Texas. Elder Wood was an ordained Primitive Baptist minister for fifty years. He is survived by his wife Violet; a son, William Wood of Madison, Ga.; a daughter, Lois Beth Mehaffie of Dallas, Texas; a sister, Mrs. Myrtle Darrow of Panhandle, Texas; seven grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four children and fifteen brothers and sisters. Pall bearers are Doss Allard, Brian Wood, Pete Hatler, Larry Wood, Benny Wood, and Dan Newman. Interment will be in the Post Oak cemetery under the direction of Martin-Pitts Funeral Home. The service will be officiated by Elder L.C. Swanner and Elder A.W. Ashbell.
