Obituary: Wellington Leader May 2, 1974 Mrs. F.M. Mabery, 83, died in Turner Nursing Home in Childress at 5:00 p.m. Friday, April 26 after an illness of about 8 years. She was 83 years of age. She and her husband, the late Mr. Mabery brought their family to Collingsworth County 56 years ago and they farmed south of town until retiring. The family home was in Wellington until she became ill. The former Effie Loraine Wood, she was born January 4, 1891 at Cuero and was the daughter of the late W.H. and Molly Newman Wood. She was married to Mr. Mabery July 1, 1908, at Granbury and they came here in 1918 from Somervell County. She was a member of the Baptist Church. Mr. Mabery died November 14, 1962. Surviving Mrs. Mabery are two daughters, Mrs. William Blasingame of Ingleside and Mrs. Jack Birch of Sacramento, CA; two sons, Harley Mabery of Long Beach, CA and R.L. Mabery of Wellington; two brothers, Elder A.B. Wood of Glenrose and Fred Wood of Wheeler; a sister, mrs. Leslie Darrow of Shamrock. There are 9 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
