Herald Coaster, October 11, 2000: Funeral services for Edward J. Ernest, 73, of Rosenberg, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 13, at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg, with interment following at West Gethsemane Cemetery in Rosenberg. Father Howard Drabek will officiate the services. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home, 3900 B.F. Terry Blvd. at Highway 59 in Rosenberg. Deacon Don Ries will conduct a rosary service at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. Edward was born March 20, 1927 in Pleak, Fort Bend County, to Frank Ernest and Emilie Poncik Ernest, and he passed away Oct. 10, 2000 in Richmond. He was a loving husband, pop, and grampie. He was owner of Ernest Garage and Auto Sales for 41 years and as actively involved in Ernest Trailer Sales. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. Edward was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Rosenberg, a 54-year member of the American Legion Post 271, and a Third Degree Knights of Columbus. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Emilie Ernest, and his brothers, Alvin and Joseph Ernest. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Leona Ann Pollock Ernest of Rosenberg; his sons, Robert A. Ernest and his wife, Carmella, of Rosenberg, Donald W. Ernest and his wife, Diane, of Fairchilds, and Richard G. Ernest and his wife, Susan, of Fairchilds; his pride and joy, his grandchildren, Shawn Warncke and her husband, K.B., Sheree Reid and her husband, Donavan, Shara Donlyn Ernest, Wade Ernest and his wife, Marla, Wyatt Ernest and his wife, Jenny, Victoria Bridget Ernest, and Justin Travis Ernest; his great-grandchildren, Tyler Lane and Madison Nicole Ernest, Margo Marie Warncke, and two more on the way; his sister, Annie Kunz of Eagle Lake; and numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives, and many friends. Pallbearers are Wade Ernest, Wyatt Ernest, K.B. Warncke, Donavan Reid, Terry Jurek, and Gary Oberhoff. Honorary pallbearers are Justin Ernest, Tyler Ernest, Bennie Pollock, Calvin Pollock, Freddie Pollock, Marvin Pollock, Ernest Jurek, and Ronnie Kunz.
