Bio

Annie Mary Veselka, 89, of Bellmead passed away Sunday evening, September 1, 1991 at Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home in Waco. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Wilkerson-Hatch Funeral Home by the Rev. Angelo Bertini. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with the Rev. Hilario Guajardo as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery in West. Mrs. Veselka was born May 7, 1902 in West, the daughter of Vince and Veronica Marek. She married John Mack Veselka on May 11, 1920. They were married nearly 68 years. He preceded her in death on April 9, 1988. She was a charter member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the Altar Society. She was also a member of KJZT Lodge #110. She was preceded in death by two sons, Augustine Veselka, April 3, 1979 and Adolph Veselka on November 30, 1990. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Eileen Frazier of Waco; one son, Louie J. Veselka of Chalk Bluff; one sister, Mrs. Lillian Graeser of Dallas; one brotherf, Frank R. Marek of Abbott; three grandchildren, Diana Engelka, Mark Frazier and Laura Ansley; two great-grandchildren, Justin Engelke and Matthew Frazier, several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Alvin Simcik, Fred Veselka, Edwin Husak, Larry Lednicky, Ernest Phelps and Gilbert Marek. The West News, West, Texas, Volume 101, No. 37, Ed. 1, Thursday, September 12, 1991, page 5.
