Mrs. Jim (Mary) Tobola, 85, of West, died Friday in a Waco hospital. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, the Rev. Bob Hajovsky officiating. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery. Rosary was recited at 8 p.m. Saturday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West. Mrs. Tobola was born Dec. 29, 1894, in McLennan County. She was a lifelong West resident and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption and the Altar Society. Mrs. Tobola and her husband owned the Best Theatre in West until 1971. Survivors include three sons, Jimmy J. Tobola of West, Ludvik L. Tobola of Waco and Henry A. Tobola of Grand Prairie; four brothers, Joe Marek, John Marek, and Alfons Marek, all of West, and Ben Marek of Bellmead; three sisters, Mrs. Bessie Tobola and Mrs. Regina Bartosh, both of West, and Mrs. Lena Svacek of Fort Worth; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were James Tobola, David Tobola, Mark Tobola, Brit Tobola, Tyce Tobola and Rev. Louis Tobola. Aderhold Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
