Jimmie J. Tobola, Jr., age 73, of West, passed away early Friday morning, October 6, 1989 at West Community Hospital. A rosary was held at 8 p.m. Saturday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, recited by Msgr. George Doskocil. Mass of Christian burial was held at 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption with Rev. Ed Karasek as Celebrant, assisted by Lewis Tobola. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery. He was born July 13, 1916 in West, the son of Jim and Mary Tobola. He married Frances A. Bartosh on September 29, 1940 in West. He was a mail carrier for the United States Post Office in West for 22 years before his retirement. He also worked for the Best and Palace Theatres in West for many years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #2305 and St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumptiond. Survivors include his wife, Frances Tobola of West; three sons, Maj Vincent Tobola of Austin, James Tobola of West, and Dr. David Tobola of College Station; one daughter, Mary Frances Tobola of West; brothers, Ludvik L. Tobola of Waco, and Henry A. Tobola of Grand Prairie; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Anthony Chudej, Thomas Chudej, Mark Tobola, Brit Tobola, Tyce Tobola, John Prasifka, Jerry Prasifka and Sonny Bartosh.
