R.R. Sulak, Sulak's Cafe Founder, Dies R.R. Sulak, 80, of 510 South Harrison, West, died Friday afternoon in a Waco hospital. Rosary was recited at 8 p.m. Sunday in Aderhold Chapel by Rev. George Doskocil. Requiem Mass was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday in St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption with Rev. George Doskocil as celebrant. St. Mary's P-TC Choir sang at the mass. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery. Mr. Sulak was the founder of Sulak's Cafe on Jan. 8, 1923. He had been the owner and operator of the cafe until his retirement a few years ago. He was a lifelong resident of the West area and was born in Fayette County. His wife died in August of last year. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Mary) Shebesta of West; one brother, Adolph Sulak of Dallas; one sister, Mrs. Lena Bednar of Fort Worth; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild, and two nieces, Miss Lilyan Dvoracek of West and Mrs. Joe (Irene) English of Port Arthur, who made their home with the Sulaks for many years. Pallbearers were Tim Sulak, Michael Sulak, Albin Sulak, Jr., Joey Shebesta, Roger Kolar and Joe English. The West News, West, Texas, Volume 81, No. 1, Edition 1, Friday, April 23, 1971, page 1.
