Abbott Pioneer Taken By Death Mrs. Antonie Smajstrla of Abbott, age 80, passed away Friday, July 4th. Funeral services were held at the Abbott Catholic Church on Sunday, July 6, Rev. Chas. Smid and Rev. E.J. Polcak officiating. Burial was in the Catholic cemetery at West. Mrs. Smajstrla was born in Czechoslovakia, coming to this country as a young girl and had been a resident of the Abbott community for many years. Her husband passed away several years ago. She is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Gabriel Snapka, Mrs. John Pavlas, Mrs. John Marek, Mrs. John Zapalac and Mrs. August Zapalac; four sons, Vaclav, Cyril, Florian and Steve Smajstrla.
