Mrs. Millie Peters Dies While Attending Church Mrs. Millie Peters died Friday morning, July 6, 1956, while attending mass at the Catholic Church. Mrs. Peters, who had always worked a little harder and done a little more than the job called for, walked the long mile from her home to church Friday morning. She had complained of feeling a little tired lately, but she had never been ill, unless you count the time she broke her arm several years ago. Mrs. Peters was born Millie Popp in West, seventy-one years ago. She was married to August Peters, who preceded her in death twenty-four years ago. She resided in West all her life with the exception of two years when the family lived in Temple. She belonged to the Altar Society and was a charter member of SPJST Lodge 54. She was awarded a 50 year membership pin by the Lodge. Mrs. Peters is survived by her son, Edward A. Peters, of San Rafael, California; her 3 daughters, Mrs. Clarence Stevenson of Los Angeles, California, Mrs. Alfred Kaatz of Waco, Mrs. Alfred Stanislav of West; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Moucka and Mrs. Stacy Kazda; and eight grandchildren. Rosary was recited at 8 p.m. Sunday at the Aderhold Funeral Home. Funeral services were held Monday at 9 a.m., July 9, at the Church of Assumption, Rev. George Doskocil officiated. Graveside services were conducted by Rev. James Quilter. Pallbearers were Gene Popp, John Popp, Joe Popp, Wilfred Karlik, Clement Kolacek and John Kubala.
