Bio

Joe F. Nors, age 88, of West, passed away Sunday morning, August 11, 2002 in a Waco hospital. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Kotch Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 13, 2002 in St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery in West. Mr. Nors was born March 4, 1914 in West and lived in the West area all of his life. He was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption and KJT Society #31. He was a farmer, employee of the West Cotton Mill for a number of years and retired from Fleetwood Mobile Home Company in Waco. He married Henrietta Chudej February 18, 1936 at West. She preceded him in death on December 2, 1988. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Daniel (Henrietta) Gerik and Josephine Nors, both of West; three sisters, Adele Chudej, Georgia Skerik and husband Bill, and Annie Chudej, all of West; three grandchildren, Richard Gerik and wife Vicky of Waco, Mark Gerik of Fort Worth, and Dianne Mendiola and husband Mike of West; four great-grandchildren, Mollie Nanny and husband Stephen of Ross, Jeff Gerik of Waco, Meagan and Matthew Mendiola of West; three great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Active Pallbearers were Thomas Nors, Harry Gene Nors, Brad Mechell, Johnny Nors, Johnny Chudej and Edwin Nors. Kotch Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
