Mrs. Vinc (Adela) Chudej, age 90, of West, passed away Thursday evening, September 26, 2002 at West Rest Haven. A rosary was recited at 1 p.m. on Sunday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 1:15 p.m. on Sunday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with the Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial followed at St. Mary's Cemetery near West. The family received visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Mrs. Chudej was born on September 26, 1912, in West, the daughter of Karel and Marie (Kaska) Nors. She married Vinc Joseph Chudej on August 16, 1939 in West. He preceded her in death on January 22, 1996. She was a manager for the West Egg Plant for thirty-three years until her retirement in 1980. Adela loved her grandchildren and gardening. She was a volunteer for the West Rest Haven and a member of KJZT Society #11 and RVOS #46. She was a lifetime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. She is preceded in death by a son, Bernard Chudej, who died on May 19, 1995. She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Betty Chudej of West; two sisters, Georgie Skerik and husband Bill, and Annie Chudej, all of West; four grandchildren, Doug Chudej, Kenny Chudej and wife Janet, Tammy Soukup and husband, Ernie and Davie Chudej and wife Delayne, all of West; five great-grandchildren, Cassie Chudej, Amber Chudej, Ashley Chudej, Clint Chudej and Kali Chudej; one great-great-grandchild, McKenzie Toon; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Edwin Nors, Tommy Nors, Kenny Chudej, Doug Chudej, David Chudej and Ernie Soukup. Aderhold Funeral Home in West was in charge of arrangements.
