Mrs. Rudolf (Emilie) Matus, 85, of 300 Haven St. in West died at 4:42 p.m. February 11, 1987 in West Community Hospital. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 13 at Kotch Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. Feb. 14 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in West with the Rev. Ray Widacki as celebrant. Burial followed at St. Mary's Cemetery in West. Mrs. Matus was born Aug. 19, 1901, in West and was a longtime resident. She lived in Seymour for several years and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and was a homemaker. She was married to Rudolf Matus on Jan. 11, 1926 in Penelope; he died Jan. 20, 1970. Survivors include four sons, Raymond Matus, Daniel Matus, Rudolph Matus and Herman Matus, all of West; a daughter, Mrs. George (Eileen) Soukup, Jr. of West; a brother, Faymond Krenek of Abbott; two sisters, Janie Mashek of West and Mary Knezek of Seymour; 20 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
