Raymond Marak, 51, Dies, Rites Held Wednesday Requiem mass for Raymond J. Marak of West was celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Rev. Earl Hedberg officiated. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Kotch Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Marak, 51, died Monday in West Community Hospital. Mr. Marak was born in West and had lived here all his life. He owned and operated Shadowland Cafe for the past 15 years. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the KJT Society No. 31 and Knights of Columbus No. 2305 of West. He was a World War II veteran and a member of the American Legion Post in West. Survivors include his wife; a son, Randy Marak of West; four sisters, Mrs. Irene Jezek and Mrs. Louise Jezek, both of West, Mrs. Wilma Olson of Houston, and Mrs. Mary Lee Simcik of Waco; two brothers, Johnny Marak of Arlington and Eddie Marak of Irving; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Joe Sulak, Ernest Kallus, Arthur Marak, George Jezek, Jr., Chuck Simcik, and Alfred Marak. The West News, West, Texas, Volume 82, No. 33, Edition 1, Friday, December 1, 1972, page 1.
