Bio

Mrs. Joe (Irene) Jezek, age 85 of Houston, formerly of West, died Saturday morning March 2, 1998 in Houston. Rosary was 10 a.m. Monday in St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, West, followed by Mass of Christian Burial 10:15 a.m., with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery, West. Mrs. Jezek was born December 15, 1912 near West and had lived in the West area all of her life until moving to Houston three years ago. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, the K.J.Z.T. Society #11 and the Catholic Daughters of America Court #829. She was a retired floral designer and a volunteer at West Rest Haven. She married Joe Jezek October 23, 1934 at West. He preceded her in death November 13, 1979. Survivors include three daughters, Elizabeth Jezek, Rita Joe Jezek and Susan Jones all of Houston; one sister, Mary Lee Simcik of Waco; two brothers, Johnny Marak of Weatherford and Eddie Marak of Irving; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers John Simcik, III, Charles Simcik, Shawn Kudelka, Adolph Muska, George Jezek and Anthony Jezek. Honorary pallbearers, Grandsons, Christopher, Austin and Nicholas Jones.
