Friday Services For Westite J.C. Karlik Requiem Mass for J.C. Karlik, 79, of West will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption with Rev. George Doskocil as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Rosary was recited Thursday night at Aderhold Funeral Chapel. Mr. Karlik died Tuesday in a Waco hospital. Mr. Karlik was a native of Tours and a resident of the West area most of his life. He was a retired barber. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. His wife, Annie Karlik, operates Annie's Bake Shop in West. Surviving are his wife, two sons, Clement L. Karlik of Kermit and Wilford Karlik of Fort Worth; two stepsons, Eddie Barton of Abilene and Gus Barton of 2609 Cedar Point Drive in Waco; one brother, Frank Karlik of West; four sisters, Miss Mary Karlik, Mrs. Christine Kolar, Mrs. Rosie Holecek and Mrs. Frances Kolar of West; four grandsons, seven step-grandchildren and two step-great-granddaughters. Pallbearers were Louie Kolar, Ernest Holecek, Edward Karlik, Henry Kapavik, Charles Bates and Edwin Gerik. The West News, West, Texas, Volume 81, No. 2, Edition 1, Friday, April 30, 1971, page 1.
