Bio

Christine Karlik Kolar, age 85, of 108 E. Virginia in West, passed away late Friday evening, October 19, 1990 at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco. A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Sunday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel by Msgr. George Doskocil. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption with Rev. Ed Karasek officiating. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery. Mrs. Kolar was born March 21, 1905 near West, the daughter of Joseph and Anna Karlik. She married Joe Kolar on November 20, 1934 in West. He preceded her in death on March 21, 1975. She lived in West since 1962. She was a housewife and worked for many West area bakeries before retiring in 1975. She was a member of the K.J.Z.T. Society No. 11 and the Catholic Daughters of America. She was also a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. She is survived by two daughters, Lillie Slovacek of Euless and Margie Bates of Lacy-Lakeview; two sisters, Rosie Holecek and Frances Kolar, both of West; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Edward Kolar, Edwin Gerik, Ernest Holecek, Rudolph Kolar, William Kolar and Danny Kramolis.
