Vince Walter Gerik, 75, of Waco, a retired mechanic, died Sunday morning in a Waco hospital. Services were held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Waco, the Rev. Ed Rabroker officiating. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery in West. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Monday at Wilkerson and Hatch Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Gerik was born May 1, 1904, in West. He attended Tokio schools, married Otillie Sulak in 1929. He was a farmer and mechanic in West for many years before moving to Waco in 1943. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Waco. Survivors include his wife; one son, Edward J. Gerik of San Antonio; five sisters, Mrs. Adolph F. (Adella) Poehls and Mrs. Agnes Koppa, both of Lacy-Lakeview, Mrs. Ann Yates and Mrs. Robert R. (Mollie) Frazier, both of Bellmead, and Mrs. Tal (Margaret) Scott of West; two brothers, John J. Gerik of Dallas and Adolph H. Gerik of West; and four grandchildren.
