Requiem Mass Held Sat. For Max J. Gerik Max J. Gerik, 74, of Temple, a native of West, died Thursday, Nov. 12 in a Temple hospital. Requiem mass was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption with Rev. Oliver Johnson as celebrant. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. George Doskocil. He was a retired farmer who had lived in Temple for the past 12 years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I. He is survived by his wife; three sons, Frank Gerik of Lancaster, Ray Gerik of Killeen, Fred Gerik of Grand Prairie; three brothers, Jim Gerik of Waco, John Gerik of Dallas, Adolph Gerik of West; six sisters, Mrs. Joe Dvorak of West, Mrs. Agnes Koppa of Lacy-Lakeview, Mrs. Walter Poehls of Elm Mott, Mrs. Robert Frazier and Mrs. Annie Yates of Bellmead, Mrs. Tal Scott of West, and eight grandchildren.
