Bio
Ludvik D. Gerik, 89, of West, a retired farmer, died Friday, October 30, 1987 at a Hillsboro nursing home. Rosary was recited at 6 p.m. Sunday, November 1, 1987 at Kotch Funeral Home in West. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in West, with Msgr. Ray Widacki as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery, West. Mr. Gerik was born August 4, 1898, in Fayetteville, and lived in West most of his life. He was married to Mary C. Matus November 17, 1925. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and was a retired farmer. Survivors include his wife, Mary Gerik; two sons, Alfons A. Gerik of Ross and Lawrence D. Gerik of Springfield, Virginia; five daughters, Mrs. John (Viola) Parma, Mrs. Raymond (Mary) Marek and Mrs. Johnnie (Christine) Soukup, all of West, Mrs. Robert (Ruth) Dudik of Hubbard and Mrs. Jack (Leona) Whiteley of McGregor; 19 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Jack Whiteley, III, Raymond Marek, Ernest Soukup, Jerry Dudik, Glenn Gerik and Michael Parma. Honorary pallbearers were Darrell Gerik, Arthur Dudik and Garry Parma.
