Bio

Mrs. Frank (Annie) Kolar, age 98, of West, passed away December 24, 1998 in West Rest Haven. Rosary was recited at 2:30 p.m. December 27 in St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, Mass of Christian Burial followed at 2:45 p.m., with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary's cemetery near West. Mrs. Kolar was born September 23, 1900 in Fayetteville and had lived most of her life in West. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, the Altar Society and the K.J.Z.T. Society #11. She married Frank R. Kolar on November 11, 1919 in West and he preceded her in death on July 31, 1974. She and Frank had 14 children - eight boys and six girls. She was also preceded in death by five children, Margaret, Lillian Irene, George and Frank. Mrs. Kolar is survived by six sons, Adolph Kolar, Raymond Kolar, Rudolph Kolar and Johnny Kolar, all of West, Alfons Kolar of Mount Calm and Albin Kolar of Crowley; three daughters, Mrs. John (Mary) Grmela and Miss Angeline Kolar of West and Mrs. Joe (Annie Mae) Marek of Penelope; 30 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers were Adolph Kolar, Jr., Alfons Kolar, Jr., Raymond Kolar, Jr., Rudolph Kolar, Jr., Harry Grmela and Larry Marek. Kotch Funeral Home of West was in charge of arrangements.
