Edmund F. Gerik Age 87, Dies Edmund F. Gerik, 87, of West died Wednesday, July 13, evening in the West Community Hospital. Rosary was recited Thursday, July 14 at 7:30 p.m. at Aderhold Funeral Chapel in West, Rev. George Doskocil officiating. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Friday, July 15th, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, Rev. William Benish officiating. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery near West. Mr. Gerik was a native of Fayetteville, Tex. He married Tracy Hlavaty on April 6, 1915. He was a member of SPJST Lodge No. 126 in Ross and RVOS No. 48. He was a retired carpenter and farmer and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Raymond Gerik of 3601 Lasker, Edwin Gerik of 3521 Lasker and Eugene Gerik of Mart; a daughter, Mrs. Wilma Kizer of West; four brother, William Gerik of St. Louis, Mo., and Ludvik Gerik, Elo Gerik, and Arnold Gerik, all of West; two sisters, Mrs. Annie Kolar of West and Mrs. Mary Silhan of Morton; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Anton P. Gerik, Henry L. Gerik, Donald Gerik, Alfonse Gerik, Bruce Gerik, and Raymond Kolar.
