Bio

Funeral services for Mrs. Lizzie Mae Garrett, 85, of 301 E. Ninth, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday from Johnson Park Church of Christ with Gary Dennis, minister, officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton Mortuary. Mrs. Garrett, a resident of Borger since 1943, died at 4:50 a.m. today at her home. She was born Sept. 8, 1887 in Florence, Ala. Her husband, Ben, preceded her in death on Feb. 12, 1963. Survivors include seven sons, June, Bill and Dean of Borger, G. W. of Denver City, Jack of Houston, Buddy and L.B. of Hollis, Okla.; four daughters, Mrs. Altha Mitchell and Mrs. Kim Neeper of Borger, Mrs. Christine Darnell of Long Beach, Calif., Mrs. Frank Price of Sulphur Springs. Two sisters, Mrs. Kate Pickett of Dallas and Mrs. Emer Linley of Cumby; 37 grandchildren, 95 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. Casket bearers will be the men of Johnson Park Church of Christ.
