Mr. Richard Alfons Vinklarek, Sr. Yoakum - Richard A. Vinklarek, Sr., age 88, died on Wednesday, March 12, 2008. He was born in Gonzales County, Texas, on November 17, 1924, to Richard M. and Johanna Chilek Vinklarek. He was a retired maintenance and service technician with the Texas Department of Transportation, a veteran of World War II, having served in the US Army, and he was a Catholic. Survivors: Two daughters, Gail Kallus and husband, Edward, of Halletsville, and Bridget Opela and husband, Michael, of Stockdale; two sons, Clifton Vinklarek and wife, Glennette, and Richard Vinklarek, Jr., and Coke, all of Hochheim; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Martin Vinklarek of Yoakum, and Frankie Vinklarek of San Antonio. Preceded in death by: Parents; wife, Angeline Ann Vinklerek; two sons, Kermit Vinklearek, and infant son; son-in-law, Warren Buesing; three sisters, Cecilia Wenske, Janie Kurtz, and Magdalena Vinklarek; and three brothers, Fred, John, and Thomas Vinklarek. Funeral service is at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2008, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Matthew Huehlefeld officiating. Interment will be at St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery. Rosary is at 7 p.m. on Friday, at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to St. Ann's Building Fund. Online guestbook may be signed at thielecooper.com.
