Mr. John J. Vinklarek Hochheim - Funeral services for John J. Vinklarek, age 71, of Hochheim, who was pronounced dead at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday, October 5, 1989, were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 7, at St. Ann's Catholic Church with the Rev. Jerry Caponi officiating. Burial followed in St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Buffington Funeral Home of Yoakum. The body of Mr. Vinklarek was found in the Guadalupe River where he had fallen into the river and drowned. Mr. Vinklarek was born on May 8, 1918, in Yoakum, son of the late Richard and Johanna (Chilek) Vinklarek. He was a retired rice farmer A rosary was recited on Friday evening, October 6, at Buffington Funeral Home chapel. Surviving are four brothers, Fred Vinklarek of Hochheim, Martin Vinklarek of Yoakum, Richard Vinklarek of Shiner, and Frankie Vinklarek of San Antonio; two sisters, Cecilla Wenske of Yoakum, and Janie Kurtz of Placedo; and nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother and a sister. Pallbearers were Charles Wenske, Glen Braden, Ronald Ressler, Kermit and Ricky Vinklarek, and James Kurtz.
