Bio

Rebecca Elizabeth Stephens, daughter of Alfred and Mary Jane Stephens, was born July 18, 1865 in Pausheih county, Iowa, and departed this life in Hastings hospital at the age of 79 years, 10 months and 2 days. She was united in marriage to Jared Clarence Donelson on March 26, 1883. To this union four children were born: Amos, Coila, Edith and Bill. Amos passed away on November 16, 1903. She leaves to mourn her departure, besides a loving husband, three children, Mrs. Elmer Lyon of Boise, Idaho; Mrs. Edith Layher of Nampa, Idaho and Bill of Riverton, Wyo., thirteen grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren, two sisters and four brothers and many other relatives and a host of friends. When quite young, she was baptized in the United Brethren church, and lived true to her faith, after moving to Broken Bow, she joined the Church of the Nazarene where she has been a faithful member. in late years Mrs. Donelson's main regret was her physical inability to attend church services. Her acts of kindness will long be remembered by her friends and neighbors. She was a loving wife and mother and was greatly loved by all who knew her. She bore her long suffering with patience and often wished the silent messenger would come and take her home. Services were held Tuesday at Schneringer and Johnson funeral home. Rev. L.C. Schwanz was in charge. Interment was made in the Ansley cemetery.
