Bio

Nancy died before 8 April 1887, Lowndes Co., Mississippi, and is probably buried near her husband John McCown, but in an unmarked grave. By the time she died, she only had one child living, and he lived in Arkansas. She married John McCown, about 1824, Monroe Co., Mississippi. They were the parents of 7 children: George W., Simeon, Mary Elizabeth, Francis Asberry, Manerva Jane, Eliza Rebecca, and John W. McCown. Her four sons served the Confederacy and the youngest, John, died at Decatur, Alabama.
