Bio

Fred F. Jares, age 75, of 108 South Marable in West, passed away early Sunday morning, June 25, 1989 at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco. A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Monday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel by Msgr. George Doskocil. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Isidore Rozycki as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery. Mr. Jares was born March 2, 1914 in Penelope, the son of Louis and Mary Jares. They moved to West in 1916 where he attended West schools. He married Ida (Edith) Detterman in West on June 5, 1937. He was a clerk and cashier for Henry's Grocery and Market for many years. Mr. Jares was a member of the Catholic Workman Fraternal Association and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. He is preceded in death by a son, Don Jares who died May 11, 1983; and a granddaughter, Janice Jares who died January 5, 1987. He is survived by his wife, Ida (Edith) Jares of West; two sons, Melvin Jares of Elm Mott, and Larry Jares of West; two brothers, Ben Jares of Waco, and Victor Jares of West; twelve grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Robert Neckar, Harry Lichnovsky, Marvin Owens, Clarence Berger, Jerry Cocek and James Miller.
