Requiem Mass Held Wed. For Louis Jares, Jr. Louis A. Jares, Jr., 59, an employee of the City of West, died Monday morning in a Hillsboro hospital. Rosary was recited at 8 p.m. Tuesday in Kotch Funeral Chapel, West. Requiem mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Mary’s Catholic Church of the Assumption at West with Rev. B.J. Zientek as celebrant. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery at West. Mr. Jares was born in West and had lived in the West area all his life. He was a Catholic and had been employed by the city for the past 15 years. Before joining the city, he had worked a number of years at the textile mill at West. Survivors include his wife; one son, Tommy Jares of Iowa Park; two daughters, Mrs. Jimmy (Louise) Snokhous of West and Mrs. John (Estelle) Aycock of Hallettsville; his father, Louis Jares, Sr., of West; three brothers, Ben Jares of Waco, Victor Jares, and Fred Jares, one sister, Mrs. Earl (Lillian) Carson of Richmond, Va.; and five grandchildren. Pallbearers were Marvin Gerik, Eugene Bajer, Edmund Barton, Ernest Bezdek, A.R. Havel and Charlie Blahuta.
