Requiem Mass Held Wed. For Louis Jares, Sr. Louis Jares, Sr., 92, of West died Sunday night in a West nursing home. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 11 in Kotch Funeral Home Chapel. Requiem mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 12 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church of the Assumption, West, with Rev. B.J. Zientek as celebrant. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Mr. Jares was born in Fayette County and lived in the West area the last 60 years. He was a retired butcher. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of the Assumption and Catholic Workmen (KD). Survivors include three sons, Ben J. Jares of Waco, Victor Jares and Fred Jares, both of West; a daughter, Mrs. Earl (Lillian) Carson of West Columbia, S.C.; seven grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Robert Neckar, C.W. Cernosek, Roman Srubar, Leo Miller, Tom Fajkus and Ernest Svrcek.
