Mrs. Mary Stepan Vrba, 80, of Temple died June 19, 1989. Rosary was recited at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple with services at St. Luke's Catholic Church with Father Walter Matus officiating. Burial was in Hillcrest Cemetery in Temple. Mrs. Vrba was born and reared in West, the daughter of Louis and Veronica Stepan who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a son, Norman Gene of Temple, sisters Olga Vrba and Rosalee Kavinski and a brother John Lee Stepan. She married Edward Vrba in West in 1933. She was a lifelong member of the Catholic Daughters of America, the American Legion Auxiliary, St. Luke's Altar Society, A&M Mother's Club, National Association of Letter Carrier Wive's Association and KJZT. Survivors are her husband, Edward Vrba of Temple; a daughter, Eva Vrba Farby of New Orleans, Louisiana; sons Donald E. Vrba of Houston, Wayne Vrba of New Braunfels, Patrick Vrba of San Antonio; brothers Joe Stepan and George Stepan both of Austin, and 10 grandchildren.
