Son of George W. Knight (1854–) and Sarah Elizabeth Corbitt Knight (1853–1881) he was married in 1892 to Mary Elizabeth Loyless (1878–1950) and they lived most of their lives in Upshur Co., Texas. They had 13 children, Rosa Lee Knight (1898 – 1952), Myrtle May Knight (1900 – 1975), Terrell Franklin Knight (1901 – 1902), Lena Larvenia Knight (1902 – ), Harvey J.
