Sophie Elliott passed peacefully, surrounded by her family on Monday, Sept. 13, 1999. She was born Dec. 17, 1938, in Garryowen, to Ludwig and Mary Buechler. Sophie married Joseph Elliott July 29,1961. She is survived by her husband, five daughters, a stepson, four grandchildren, two sisters, three brothers, numerous friends and Tana. "As our sorrow begins, your suffering finally ends. Gone now to tend to the flowers of the Gods and drink the coffee of heaven's sweetness. Gone. are you really gone? How could this be, for every rainbow is a smile of encouragement, each drop of rain a tear to share in our joy or sadness. Each ray of sun a warm hug when we need it most. Each tiny snowflake a new and precious gift. Each gust of wind to bring the leaves dancing about is a gentle reminder that you are all around us. No, you are not you, just as the love you gave, is eternal!" Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept.16, at Fairview Cemetery in Hardin.
