Anton (Tony) Buechler, 82, of Hardin passed away Thursday Aug. 27, 2009, at the Big Horn County Memorial Hospital. He was born March 17, 1927, in Burnstad, N.D.,a son of Ludwig and Mary Vetsch Buechler. He received his education at the 9 mile school. Tony enlisted in the US Navy and served during WWII. He was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Area Campaign MedaL WWII Victory Medal, and later received his honorable discharge. Tony was united in marriage to Corinne Redden on Feb. 14, 1953, in Billings and the couple made their home in Hardin. Tony worked as a rancher, truck driver and construction worker. He was a cowboy at heart who enjoyed working with horses, branding, reading and braiding leather. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Carl, Joe, Roy, Martin, Matt, Ben, and Ole Buechler; sisters, Mary (Carl) Meinhardt, Sophie (foe) Elliott and his grandson Randy Stimpson. Survivors include his wife, Corinne; sons, Carl (Mollie), Allen (Tracy); his daughter, Mae (Evan) Stimpson; his sister Placidia (Everett) Stoltz, and his six grandchildren. A Rosary will be performed Sunday 4 p.m Aug. 30, at Bullis Funeral Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday 2 p.m Aug.31, in the St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment with military honors will follow in the Fairview Cemetery. Bullis Mortuary of Hardin has been entrusted with the arrangements..
