Bio

Jacob "Jake" Hafner, 64, formerly of 2120 N. Kansas Ave., died today at a local hospital. He was born June 7, 1915 at Topeka, where he lived most of his life. He was a veteran of World War II service with the U.S. Army Air Corps. Mr. Hafner had worked for the Santa Fe Railway as a section hand. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Survivors include four brothers, William Hafner, San Diego, Valentine Hafner, 2136 N. Buchanan, Lawrence Hafner, 1505 N. Kansas Ave., Raymond Hafner, 1120 N.W. Sunset Lane, and five sisters, Mrs. Anna Mauer, 307 Burgess, Mrs. Ruth Gartner, 102 W. Lyman, Mrs. Margaret Mauer, 2114 N. Kansas, Mrs. Helen Deghand, 1226 N.
