Bio
Faye Gates, 83, Redland, passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2006, at Broken Bow Nursing Home, Broken Bow, OK. She was born August 15, 1922, at Bethel, OK, the daughter of W.F. and Nancy Lawrence. Faye married Don Dale Gates in September, 1947, at Mena, AR. She was affiliated with the Baptist faith. She was a lifelong resident of the community. She enjoyed helping her husband of 59 years raise chickens on their poultry farm, working as a Hand to Hand volunteer, quilting and most of all spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, W.F. and Nancy Lawrence; brother, W.F. Lawrence Jr.; two sisters, Willie Hoover and Edith Marshall. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Don Dale Gates of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Leah Gates of Redland Community; one daughter and son-in-law; Kathryn and Larry Wood of Kingston, OK; one brother, Ernie Lawrence of Rockwall, TX; three sisters, Lillian Whitten of Idabel, OK, Dessie Stinnet and Sylvia Luellan both of Owasso, OK; six grandchildren, Brett Lane and wife Michelle, Blake Lane, Shelly Blalock and husband Shawn, Brandon Gates, Lindsey Gates and Anna McLain; three great-grandchildren, Colton Lane, Daxen Lane, and Jace Gates.
