Mary Dessie Stinnett Obituary Mary Dessie Lawrence was born on March 14, 1927 in Bethel, Oklahoma to her parents, William Frank Lawrence and Nancy Virginia Walston. She was the fifth out of 8 children born to her parents. Dessie graduated from Battiest High School, then went to graduate from Southeastern University with a Bachelor's Degree in Education. Dessie was a third grade teacher for seven years at Mingo School, then she was in Owasso for 25 years. She taught many children during those years that still remember her today. She even taught two of her nephews, and a niece during that time. She retired after 25 years of teaching at Owasso Public Schools for a total of 32 years of teaching third graders. Dessie started her well-deserved retirement by working in her flower garden, and enjoyed delivering Meals on Wheels. Dessie was a member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church from the beginning. She always helped the church in any way she could or was needed. Dessie went to be with the Lord on September 8, 2021. She is going to be missed by everyone that loved and knew her. We know that she is with the Lord and other loved ones that passed before her. Dessie was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband J.B. Stinnett. Her sisters, Willie Mae Hoover, Lillian Simpson, Faye Gates, Sylvia Llewellyn, and Edith Marshall. As well as her brothers Bill and Earney Lawrence. Surviving family of Dessie include numerous nephews and nieces, that loved her very much, as well as numerous friends
