Buried with Mary E. Hartsfield. ∼ Transcription of Obituary from The Bryan Daily Eagle, 16 Sept., 1952 C. A. Hartsfield Funeral Service Saturday Morning Charlie Albert Hartsfield, 61, passed away Thursday at 9 p.m. in a local hospital following a heart attack suffered at his home on the Harvey Road earlier in the evening. Funeral services will be held at 10 a. m. Saturday at the Steep Hollow Baptist church with Rev. Joe Boles officiating, assisted by Rev. Milton Maloney. Interment, under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home, will be in the Steep Hollow cemetry with the following serving as pall bearers, Jacob Beal, Oran Beal, J. C. Hartsfield, Melvin Hartsfield, J. T. Cargill and Lynn Weedon. The following friends have been named as haororary pallbearers, Jesse Conlee, Dr. Howard Cargill, Horace Jones, Robert Jones, Jack Jones, Bill Holsapple, A. B. Syptak and Don Dougherty. Survivors include the widow, Mr. C. A. Hartsfield, and one grandson, Billie Bob Sanders, four sisters, Mr. W. H. Cargill, Phoenix, Arizona, Mrs. Joe Bond, Steep Hollow, Mrs. Hardy Weedon Harvey, and Mrs. Brooks Beal of Bryan, and two brothers, Elmer and Amzy Bullock , both of Steep Hollow. Mr. Hartsfield was born in Reliance July 12, 1891, and had lived in Brazos county all his life. He was affiliated with the Steep Hollow Baptist church and was a carpenter by trade.
