Transcription of Obituary from The Bryan Daily Eagle, Thurs., 4 Oct. 1944 Funeral Service For Mrs. Sanders At Steep Hollow Mrs. Doris Merle Sanders, wife of Pfc. Henry A. Sanders, of Ellington Field, passed away at a local hospital on Wednesday evening at 8 o'clock. Born in Brazos county in 1920, she was 24 years, 1 month, and 21 days of age and had lived in Brazos county all of her life. Beside her husband she is survived by an infant son, billy Bob Sanders; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Hartsfield and one brother Charles W. Hartsfield of reliance. Funeral services were held this afternoon at three o'clock at the Steep Hollow Baptist church conducted by Rev. R. L. Brown, pastor of the Colleg Station Baptist church of which the deceased was a member. Rev. Milton Maloney, pastor of the Steep Hollow church, assisted in the service. Interment was made in the Steep Hollow cemetery under the direction of Hillier Funeral Home.
