Bio

Marie Alexander, 99, of Hillsboro, passed away Saturday, June 30, 2007, at Town Hall Estates in Hillsboro. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Brother Gary Kreder officiating. Burial will follow at Bold Springs Cemetery near West. The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Mrs. Alexander was born in Tokio, Texas, to the late John and Mary (Slovak) Urban. She attended school near Tokio. On April 8, 1929, she was united in marriage to Tol Barger Alexander in Waco. Marie was a homemaker and loved making homemade soap, sewing, cooking and quilting. She was a member of Vaughan Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, on April 7, 1984; son-in-law, Delton Cox; brothers, John Urban, Bob Urban, Frank Urban, Tony Urban and Pete Urban; and sisters, Josephine Urban, Frances Urban, Philomenia Urban, Victoria Soukup and Clara Urban. Survivors include son, Johnny Alexander and wife, Alice, of Abbott; daughter, Betty Ann Cox, of Abbott; grandchildren, Teri and Michael Carter, Paula Auerbach-Stein, Mikel and Maria Craig, Stephen and Rebecca Cox, Mark and Patricia Cox, Michael and Leigh Ann Aguirre, William and Tracey Cox, Michael and Sandy Cox, Tim and Sarah King; great-grandchildren, Nolan and John Michael Carter, Cooper Auerbach, Elizabeth and Ethan Craig, Prescilla and Stephen Cox, Nathan and Tyler Cox, Lauren, Haley and Alexis Aguirre, Sadey Cox, Ashley Cox and Hayden King; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
