Herald and Review 4/12/1996 DECATUR -- Jesse B. Ray, 80, of Decatur died 8:53 p.m. Tuesday (April 9, 1996) in Decatur Memorial Hospital. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in J.J. Moran & Sons Funeral Home with visitation 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials: South Shores United Methodist Church. Mr. Ray was born in Allenville on Dec. 18, 1915, the son of Earl O. and Josephine Johnson Ray. He retired as a boilermaker for A.E. Staley Mfg. Co. after 43 years of service. He was a World War II Navy veteran and a member of South Shores United Methodist Church and Stephen Decatur Masonic Lodge AF&AM. He married Agnes M. ``Peggy'' Finley on Dec. 30, 1946. Surviving are his wife; sons, Jim Ray of Indianapolis; Gary L. and wife Shirley of Jacksonville, Fla.; Dennis M. and wife Donna of Decatur; Thomas ``Pat'' and wife Janet of Waukesha, Wis.; sister, Marquerite Koontz of Garland, Texas; grandchildren, Susan Koontz of Lakewood, Marsha Dial of Texas, Gary Alan Ray of Shelbyville, Denise Ray of Tampa, Tricia Ray of Madison, Wis.; Gina Ray of Waukesha, Wis.; Matthew Ray of Jacksonville, Fla., Lisa Ray of Waukesha, Wis., Brian Crane of Bethany, Angela Griftenstroh of Elkhart, Ind.; five great-grandchildren.
