Mattie Mae Givens Merchant Mattie Mae Givens Merchant, 83, died Thursday, March 1, 2007. She was a native and resident of Seminole, Alabama. Mrs. Merchant was a lifelong member of the Seminole Holiness Church and an auxiliary member of the Seminole Volunteer Fire Department. She had retired from Vanity Fair clothing manufacturing company in Robertsdale, Alabama. Survivors include five sons, Kent Merchant of Pensacola, Billy Merchant of Seminole, Michael Merchant of Troy, Ill., Rodney Merchant of Theodore and Larry Merchant of New Orleans; two sisters, Agnes Richey of Madison, Ind., and Gladys Vaughn of Seminole; two brothers, Clyde Givens of Robertsdale and Leonard Givens of Rosinton; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Mack Funeral Home in Robertsdale, AL. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Mack Funeral Home.
