Gladys Mae Given Vaughn, 92, born May 25, 1917 in Gateswood, a longtime resident of Seminole, died, April 25, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Boyd Vaughn; and two sons, Robert Lamar and Wade Vaughn. Survivors include a brother, Leonard (Louise) Givens of Rosinton; sister, Agnes (Ralph) Richey of Madison, Ind.; eight children, Earl (Eleanor) Vaughn of Spanish Fort, Jessie Louise (Clifford) of Seminole, Elvin (Melva) Vaughn of Baghdad, Fla., James (Arlene) Vaughn of Pensacola, Fla., Judy (Greg) Clifton of Elsanor, Edward (Rose) Vaughn of Seminole, Janie (Ed) Lechner of Summerdale and Beatrice (Tommy) Macks of Seminole; 26 grandchildren, a host of great and great-great-grandchildren; one devoted granddaughter, Shamicka Johnson; and one honorary daughter, Julia Ann (Kenny) Ping. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 27 at Mack Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 28 at the Seminole Holiness Church (established in 1929 by Mrs. Vaughn's father, Ossie Givens) with the Rev. Kenny Ping and the Rev. James Jennings officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Elsanor.
