Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre 325 Demaree Drive Madison, IN 47250 Mrs. Agnes J. Givens Richey, age 89 of Hanover, Indiana and formerly of Madison, entered this life on July 8, 1934 in Seminole, Alabama. She was the loving daughter of the late Osmond and Etta Jones Givens. She attended Robertsdale High School in Robertsdale, Alabama. At the age of 16, she married her sweetheart Ralph G. Richey, Jr. in Greene County, Mississippi. This happy union of 68 years was blessed with a son, Wayne, and a daughter, Helen. In the early 60s, they moved to Madison, Indiana which became their permanent home. In addition to being a homemaker, Agnes worked part time at Gateway Grocery and JCPenney until she retired. She loved being a wife, loving mom, and Mamaw. She was a member of the North United Methodist Church in Madison and the Madison Moose Lodge No. 765. She was expecting the birth of her great-great-grandson in November. Agnes died on Friday, September 22, 2023 at 4:03 p.m. at the Thornton Terrace Health Campus in Hanover, Indiana. A LOVING FAMILY Agnes will be missed by her loving son, Wayne Richey and his wife, Nancy of Madison, Indiana; her loving son in law, Douglas Homberger of New Albany, Indiana; her grandchildren, Niki, Katie, Derek, Eric, and Abbie; her great grandchildren, Kennedy, McKenna, Brynn, Maddie, Addison, Averi, and Josie; her great-great grandchildren, Rylan and Maisy; her step grandchildren, Marshall and Memphis Davis; her brother, Leonard Givens and his wife Louise of Robertsdale, Alabama; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her father, Osmond Givens, her mother, Etta Jones Givens, her beloved husband of 68 years, Ralph Green Richey, Jr., died September 16, 2018, her daughter, Helen Homberger, died May 20, 2019, and her brothers and her sister, Vernon, Quinon, Hannis, Clyde, Joe, and Mattie. FUNERAL CEREMONY Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at 1:00 p.m., by Pastor Frank McGee at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel, 1415 North Gate Road in Madison, Indiana. VISITATION Friends may visit on Tuesday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel, 1415 North Gate Road in Madison, Indiana.
