Bio

Lenora was the daughter of Wm H. "Newt" and Ellen (Elliott) Lewis and the wife of W.A. McIntire whom she married on 2 Mar 1946. She attended grade school at the Bedford Community School, Junior High School in Eastland and graduated from Cisco High School in 1941. She attended business college and worked as a typist and taking tickets at the Interstate Theatres (now Majestic Theater) in Eastland. That is where she met her future husband, W.A. McIntire. They were married when he returned home from WW II. She and W.A. lived and raised their family in Breckenridge. Later in life they built a home in the Gunsight Community an lived there the rest of her life. She was a loving Christian wife and mother, a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and Stephens County Extension Homemakers. She taught Sunday School, was a 4-H adult leader, and was instrumental in obtaining the historical designation for the Gunsight Community. She was employed by the Breckenridge Sale Barn and Bloxom Feed Store. She was named "Woman of the Year" by the Home Demonstration Clubs of Stephens County in 1975. Lenora and W.A. celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in March 1996 and enjoyed a trip to Branson, Missouri to celebrate. She was survived by: her husband, W.A. McIntire; children, Ronald McIntire and wife, Kathy; Myra Hall and husband, J.R.; Fayla Taylor and husband, Phil; Monte McIntire and wife, Becky; grandchildren: Annie Laurie Lowrance, Stacie and Mike Phineas, John and Julie Lowrance, Shannon and B.J. Roberts, M.J. McIntire, Aaron and Andrew Taylor; a brother, Vernon Lewis; sister, Louise Stansell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
